Accessibility

All the museum staff provide support to ensure that everyone can enjoy their visit, including people with disabilities, the elderly, and those with small children.

The main building is a registered tangible cultural property that was built approximately 100 years ago.

  1. Although we are working to improve accessibility, some doorways still have small steps and are narrow (approximately 70~80cm wide).
  2. There is an approximately 300 m slope from the garden entrance to the main building.
  3. If you have any concerns about accessibility, please inform us in advance of the date and time of your visit.
    We will make accommodations for your smooth and comfortable visit.
  4. We ask that visitors with difficulty in moving alone be accompanied by someone.

Parking Lot

There are parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities and those with mobility problems.
Visitors with children aged 0 to 5 are also welcome to use the parking lot.

  1. *Advance reservations are required to use the parking lot. Please contact us.
  2. *Please note that the parking space is limited.
  3. *There is an approximately 300 m slope from the parking lot to the main building. If you have any concerns about walking, please let us know in advance.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs for loan are available. If you would like to use this service, please contact the reception desk.

  1. *The number of wheelchairs is limited.

Wheelchair-accessible toilets are located on the first floor of the main building, in the garden, and in the rest house.

Large Luggage

Backpacks and items larger than 40 cm × 40 cm are not permitted in the museum. Please use the coin lockers at the rest house in the garden.

  1. *Coin lockers are only available at the rest house. There are no coin lockers in the main building.

  1. *If no coin lockers are available, please contact the reception desk in the main building.
  2. *Large luggage is not permitted to be brought into our free shuttle buses. Please place your luggage on your lap.

Guests with Small Children

Babies and infants are also welcome to visit, but we ask that they be accompanied by their guardians.

  1. Strollers are not permitted in the building.
  2. No strollers for loan are available.
  3. There is a multi-purpose restroom where you can change diapers (1st floor of the main building).
  4. We do not have a nursing room, but we can provide a space for you, so please contact our staff.
  5. If you need hot water, it can be provided in the cafe.
  6. Due to the Road Traffic Act, children aged 6 or under are not permitted to ride the free shuttle bus.

Other Facilities and Equipment

  1. If you feel unwell, please contact a nearby staff member. First-aid space will be provided.
  2. You can visit the museum accompanied by your guide dog, hearing dog, or assistance dog.
  3. If you would like to communicate in writing, please let us know.
