25 years have passed since Asahi Beer Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art opened in April 1996. This exhibition will showcase carefully selected masterpieces from the museum’s collection, focusing on people’s “dreams” surrounding the artworks. From the latter half of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, many artists with unique dreams gathered in Paris. They pursued their own expression. The essence of that dream became a masterpiece.
Later, Monet settled close to Paris in Giverny, and established a garden reflecting his ideals. You can see masterpiece of Monet’s painting of this dream garden. The theme of dreams extends also to Europe’s interest in dishes and vessels. Visitors will be introduced to oriental porcelain pieces which many aristocrats coveted and collected due to their whiteness and beauty not found in Europe, as well as historical European porcelain pieces that imitated them. The exhibition will take visitors on a dream journey, unraveling and revealing the dreams that are part of each masterpiece.

Gâteau Vert Vert ーThe garden of Monet's house in Givernyー
Based on a recipe left behind by Monet, a rich pistachio cream is sandwiched between spinach sponge cakes. The bright green color is reminiscent of the lush Giverny garden. Enjoy it together with the pleasant texture of hazelnuts coated with white chocolate.
Gâteau Villa de Montagne ―Elegance cradled in nature, Oyamazaki Villa ―
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the museum, a cake in the image of Oyamazaki Villa has been created. Cocoa sponge dipped in orange-flavored syrup and bitter chocolate cream are alternated, topped with a roof of strawberry-flavored biscuits and a tomato-flavored biscuit on the side as the door. Enjoy the texture contrast between the fluffy cake and the crispy biscuits.
