A torso signifies a body without neck, hands, or legs. While this sculptural work depicts a tort female torso, what Henry Moor pursued was not an imitation of reality, but rather an investigation into the relationship between art and surrounding environments through organic abstraction, founded on the forms existing in the natural world.
