This work collected by Soetsu Yanagi in early Showa era, was made in Kenzan's later years. After Yanagi's death, it was hung at Tamesaburo Yamamoto's house to honor the memory of Yanagi. Bernard Leach, whom Yamamoto closely supported, studied pottery together with Kenkichi Tomimoto as disciples of the Sixth Kenzan, and was given full mastership status, passionately continuing Kenzan's research. The work passed into the collection from Mikuni-so.
