Ronuki (wax resist) is a technique for creating a pattern by parts painted with melted wax that repels a glaze. Alongside the wax, a bamboo motif painted in blue and the red color of persimmon is here boldly placed in the center of the plate to leave an opulent impression. The contrast between the glittering iron glaze and earthy mat texture of the wax is a highlight.
