People Toasting Beer in Medieval Europe

Size

Length169.6×Width180cm

On Tamesaburo Yamamoto's request, Keisuke Serizawa drew this image for an electronically lit signboard for a beer hall in Sannomiya, Kobe. In a departure from his usual style, Serizawa here employs a western-style silhouette. The Asahi Beer initials “AB” appear in the upper part of the picture, while people holding beer glasses jump out from a giant beer mug with a lid. They are toasting with other figures holding beer glasses with both hands. With the playing musicians and bounding animals, the viewer can almost hear the bustling sound and music in the jubilant design.
