From the latter half of the 1970's, Lucie Rie began more and more to use colors such as beautiful blues and vivid pinks. Here Lie's characteristic use of shape in the bowl, open like a morning glory on top of a slim and high base, evokes sophistication and mystery. The glittering bronze on the rim of bowl created by a manganese glaze contrasts with the mat blue to give off a firm appearance.
